RossBD about his latest single 'I Don't Wanna Fall'

Updated: Nov 28, 2020

RossBD is an upcoming artist raised in Qatar. His real name is Rouslan, but ever since middle school his friends and family have been calling him Ross. That is why he decided to use it in his artist name, RossBD. Originally, he is from Lebanese/Russian origin, but he was raised in Qatar. He loves playing around with different music and produces his own tracks. He also made it to the national finalists of Redbull 3style championship in 2017. We talked with him about his track ‘I Don’t Wanna Fall’ with Mak.

What makes you unique?

That would have to be my hyper good vibes energy. I’ve actually been identified for it by listeners, they’ve been recognizing my work just by picking up that energy.

What drew you to the music industry?

It all started back in Qatar messing around at my friend’s small home studio. The time we spent there made me realize my music abilities and helped develop my skills to where they are today. First off it was all just for the love of music but it later grew into an obsession to learn new stuff. Especially after being inspired by EDM.

Who inspired you to make music?

I have a lot of artists like avicii, hardwell, and timmy Trumpet who inspired me to make music but it all originally started with one track that made me obsessed to know how EDM is made and its greyhound by Swedish House Mafia. I remember listening to it the first time and just feeling like I'm on top of the world!

Did you always know that you wanted to work in the music industry?

Actually, I recently graduated university with an events management degree, but I'll always have love for the music industry. I've just always been fascinated by the entertainment industry as a whole, and especially music events and festivals.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

I have 2 sides when creating music. The first side is crazy high energy, which comes out mostly at festivals. I focus on making high energy tracks that will bring out the crowd’s madness. My second side is story telling. Usually focused more on the lyrics and a chill vibe, like my song “I Don't Wanna Fall”. This is where I like to pour my thoughts out and release them to make someone feel like they're not alone, and this is also where they show me that I'm not alone either.

Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?

When I'm making something more chill yes usually they have a deep meaning coming from different situations that I feel need to be addressed. A lot of times people listen to my music and tell me they know exactly what I mean because the backstory is something we all as humans pass through especially with relationships and breakups.

Can you explain your creative process for making ‘I Don’t Wanna Fall’?

I was really inspired by loud luxury, I love their music and vibe. It made me start thinking of creating something that would sound cool like that. I started by creating the drop and then just scribbling down some words. After developing the song and writing a few verses, I kept it on the side until my good friend Mak came to the studio and heard the idea. He loved it, so he hoped on the track and that's how we started recording it and bringing it to life.

How would you describe ‘I Don’t Wanna Fall’?

It's a feel-good kind of track but with deep lyrics. It might remind you of someone, or something you've been attached to but the track also reminds you that you don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

What is the reason behind this song?

I just poured the words and feeling on the track and I was happy with the outcome, the message behind it is something I've dealt with before and I'm happy to see people relate to it.

What is the message you want to give to your fans?

Thank you so much for the support I really appreciate all the love I'm receiving! More tracks are coming out! Let’s get through these hard times together!

What is next for you?

2020 has been a very hard year to plan but for now I'm still working on releasing new music. My next one is going to be a festival track, so watch out for it!
