Every Monday from 6 PM onwards, the Mystery Freedom Studio in Regensburg becomes a meeting point for musicians, producers, DJs and other creative minds from the region. What started in August 2025 with regular studio sessions between Marc O'rell and Leo aka The Hybrid has since developed into an integral part of the Mystery Freedom community. The idea behind it was simple from the beginning: bring people together, create music, exchange ideas and build a network where new ideas and projects can emerge. Today, anywhere from three to eight people come to the studio on a Monday evening, depending on the week. Some are based in Regensburg, while others travel from further away – with some artists even making a journey of around one and a half hours. That commitment says a lot about the need for a place where people from the local House and Techno scene can regularly meet, work together and build connections beyond individual events or releases.

The Mystery Freedom Studio Sessions are deliberately not a traditional event or public show. There is no stage, no audience and no fixed schedule. From 6 PM onwards, the artists arrive at the studio and the evening develops naturally. Sometimes someone brings an existing musical idea, while other sessions start completely from scratch. Most of the time, everyone works together on one idea and develops it step by step. Music is produced, written, recorded, arranged, discussed and experimented with. At the same time, there is plenty of conversation, laughter and discussion about future projects. This combination is what makes the Studio Sessions special. The goal is not necessarily to finish the perfect song within a few hours, but to create together, learn from each other and connect different ideas and perspectives. A simple musical thought can become a new song just as easily as it can become the starting point for an entirely different project.

Everyone is welcome to become part of the sessions. Producers, singers, rappers, instrumentalists, DJs, event planners, photographers and other creative people can join. What matters is not how established someone already is or how many releases they have, but their passion for music and their willingness to contribute to the community. The musical focus is naturally connected to the sound of Mystery Freedom: Tech House and the different styles of House, as well as EDM and Techno. At the same time, the Studio Sessions are not intended to be an exclusive circle. Anyone interested can get in touch with Mystery Freedom beforehand and join the sessions free of charge. This is particularly important for emerging artists, as not every musician has the financial resources to regularly book a professional studio or produce an entire track independently. Mystery Freedom wants to provide an environment where artists can develop their ideas professionally while receiving support from the community – from the very first musical idea and songwriting to production, recording and other stages of creating a track.

The fact that these meetings actually lead to something can already be seen in the projects that have emerged from them. Several songs have been created during the sessions, but even more important are the connections that develop between the people involved. Artists who did not know each other before meet in the studio, exchange ideas and eventually start working together on new projects. Mystery Freedom Live, for example, was born during the Studio Sessions, as was the idea behind the first Mystery Freedom event. The Monday evenings have therefore become much more than production sessions. They are a starting point for new music, collaborations, events and friendships within the regional music scene. That is one of the most valuable aspects of the sessions for Mystery Freedom: you never really know what can come from a simple conversation on a Monday evening.

The Mystery Freedom Studio Sessions are also a reflection of how Mystery Freedom sees itself. The label is not simply a platform for releasing music, but a creative environment where artists and other people working in the creative field can grow together. The Studio Sessions naturally combine music production, exchange, networking and community. For Marc O'rell, this personal exchange is one of the most important aspects of the sessions. Through the meetings, he has already met many inspiring people and seen exciting projects develop from those connections. Ultimately, it is not only about the songs that are eventually released, but about everything that happens before that – the encounters, the conversations, the ideas and the opportunities that emerge along the way.

For now, the Mystery Freedom Studio Sessions are intentionally staying exactly what they have become: a regular Monday evening at the Mystery Freedom Studio. Not an artificially created format, but a genuine meeting point for people who want to create together. Anyone with a passion for Tech House, House, EDM or Techno, anyone bringing their own ideas or simply looking to become part of a growing creative community, is welcome. Because maybe a Monday evening will result in the next Mystery Freedom release. Or maybe it will lead to a new collaboration, a new event, a new friendship or an idea for something that nobody had planned before. That is what the Mystery Freedom Studio Sessions are all about: a meeting point for creative people with a passion for electronic music – and a place where new things can grow from simply coming together.
